Welcome, and thank you for visiting us! We are the Chan Family Choy Lee Fut website in Venezuela.
We are pleased to be your host. Together, we´ll begin a thousand-year
voyage to visit one of the most fascinating styles of Kung Fu, born in
the country with the most ancient civilization still in existence
today: China. This most ancient art emphasizes intelligent use of
external force impelled by will, or internal force.
Shaolin Lohan Qigong, an ancient therapeutic exercise created 1,500
years ago by Ta Mo (Bodhidarma), the founder of Zen Buddhism, and
guarded as a precious secret within the Shaolin temple, is a
fundamental part of the Chan Family Choy Lee Fut style.
In China , traditional medicine goes hand in hand with the most
advanced Kung Fu systems. Both share many concepts—for example, the
nature of Qi and methods for harmonizing the five elements—and both
emphasize breath control and internal exercises to bring out vigour and
health. In fact, Kung Fu first entered China in its healing form.
Although Chinese martial arts historians generally refer to Lohan
Qigong (of the 18 hands of Lohan) as the “seeds” of Shaolin Kung Fu,
very little is known about this internal exercise. These forms, which
are the heart of Choy Lee Fut's internal system, had not left the
immediate circle of Chan Heung's descendents until now.
On this page, you will also find news about the Chan family's martial arts events: Choy Le Fut in the world.
